الْلَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Tamil Translationஅல்லாஹ், உண்மையில் நீங்கள் மன்னிப்பு செய்கிறீர்கள், (தாராளமாக) நீங்கள் மன்னிக்க விரும்புகிறீர்கள், எனவே எனக்கு மன்னிப்பு. ”
When, Where, and How Much to Recite:
When: Recite this dua frequently during the last 10 days of Ramadan, especially on Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree).
Where: Anywhere – at home, in the mosque, or while engaged in prayer.
How Much: Recite as much as possible, particularly in Sujood (prostration) and during Tahajjud prayers.
Background:
- The last 10 days of Ramadan are known as the Days of Salvation from Hellfire (العتق من النار – Itqun Minan Naar).
- Laylatul Qadr, the most blessed night, falls in these 10 days.
- The Prophet ﷺ highly encouraged seeking Allah’s forgiveness, as these nights hold immense blessings and rewards.
- This dua is short yet powerful, directly asking Allah for forgiveness.

Aisha رضي الله عنها asked the Prophet ﷺ:
“O Messenger of Allah, if I find Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?”
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
“Say: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي (O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, You love to forgive, so forgive me).”
