Background

This verse comes from the story of Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) in Surah Al-Qasas. After fleeing from Egypt, Musa arrived in Madyan and helped two women by watering their flock. He was exhausted and had no shelter or resources at that time. After helping them, he sought shade under a tree and humbly made this dua, expressing his need for Allah’s blessings and sustenance.

This dua shows Musa’s dependence on Allah and serves as a reminder to turn to Him in moments of need. Shortly after making this dua, Musa was blessed with shelter, food, and eventually a family by marrying one of the women he had helped.
